Back in NYC it looks like spring has already come, so let’s celebrate it with some pics from last year. April 2009 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: Buenos Aires: night in San Telmo
Buenos Aires greeted us with torrential rain falls and some very nice picture opportunities. Elke took this one out of the 70 Living restaurant on Defensa in San Telmo. March 2010 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: São Paulo: Skye Bar
This is the place to go: Skye Bar on top of the Unique Hotel, arguably the best hotel in town. Up there you have a breathtaking view over the city - enjoy it with some Caiprinhas and finger food. March 2010 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

Yesterday we had some drinks at Terraço Itália enjoying the view and an awesome thunderstorm over the city. I wish I could have taken pictures of that - but the view is impressive even without lightning. Very different from New York. photo of the day: chairs: QM2 Deck 7, redux
Another one of Deck 7 of Queen Mary 2, where you get amazing food around the clock. That’s it with chairs, tomorrow we’re off to South America and hopefully I can post pictures from there. November 2008 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: chairs: waiting for summer time
These chairs will be turned into café in the High Line park, as soon as the weather allows it. Great place to hang out. January 2010 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: chairs: Montauk after the rain
This is the deck of the Ocean Beach Resort in Montauk, Long Island, where we hang out for a couple of days at least once per year. It’s directly at the beach and a faboulous place to spend a lazy day - if it doesn’t rain like on this day in August 2008. Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: chairs: high noon on board QM2
It’s noon and most likely everybody is at lunch - because that’s what you do on a cruise. And it was still too chilly to actually lounge in one of those deck chairs. December 2009 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: chairs: 5th and 58th
These chairs are located on the plaza on 5th Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets. That’s where the flagship Apple Store is and it’s a lovely place to get some food from one of the street vendors and enjoy a warm summer evening. New York’s High Line goes into its second year and as soon as it gets warmer, these chairs will be coveted spots to hang out and enjoy the sun. Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: chairs: Queen Mary 2 Deck 7
On Queen Mary 2 Deck 7 is the one where you can jog a mile in three laps. You can also sit in one of those deck chairs and just watch the sea. Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

A look over the more gritty part of the Lower East Side. A couple of years ago you didn’t want to go there. Now, there’s merely no reason to go there, unless you live in one of those buildings. August 2008 Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

photo of the day: buildings of New York: 17 State...
17 State Street is an office building at the tip of Manhattan with a curved, blueish facade. Which, supposedly, is good for Feng Shui. At least that’s what I heard about a similar building in Hong Kong (http://www.emporis.com/application/?nav=building&lng=3&id=121075) Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »

Those three buildings are near the top of Manhattan luxury living, which makes them attractive for all kinds of celebrities. They feature private wine cellars and a top restaurant on premises. The neighborhod is not that great though and they are lined up right at the Westside highway. But if you live there, you probably anyway have a limo with driver. Posted via email from...

photo of the day: buildings of New York: GE...
For me the Rockefeller Center symbolizes a certain side of New York City like no other building (or building complex to be correct). You can feel the awe that past generations must have felt when they stared up to the top of the GE building, almost in the clouds. Since a couple of years you can go up there again and personally I like it more than the top of the Empire State, because it’s...

photo of the day: buildings of new York: Time...
They started building the Time Warner Center around the time we moved to New York in 2001. It was still called AOL Time Warner back then and the two towers would have been a nice skyline counterpoint to the Twin Towers downtown. Posted via email from nydiscovery.com photo of the day | Comment »
